Associate Scientist
Summary:
This position is a laboratory-based position, and is a crucial function in the success of Turner BioSystems (“TBS”). The Associate Scientist provides technical support for marketing and sales and performs testing on TBS projects.
Responsibilities:
- Write validation and verification test plans for TBS projects.
- Perform beta validation and verification testing and launch-related testing.
- Conduct Application testing for new TBS application methods.
- Write Application notes.
- Assist in technical troubleshooting and technical support of TBS products.
- Assist in management and maintenance of the laboratory in accordance with applicable regulations.
Position Requirements:
- BSci in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
- 1-2 years laboratory experience, including instrument and assay development experience.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting.

Customer Service Representative
Summary:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for timely and accurate processing of customer sales orders and maintaining customer satisfaction by giving TBS customers the highest level of service. This is done through being responsive to customer inquiries and being courteous to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Process orders as received and schedule shipments according to lead times. Enter all corresponding information into order management system.
- Receive and process TBS accessory orders received by phone, email or fax.
- Process evaluation orders and schedule evaluation shipments.
- Maintain evaluation instrument tracking database.
- Generate quotes for customers that request quotes through our website.
- Ensure all information required for data entry into order management system is on the order submitted by Sales and Marketing per the Order Entry Procedure. Follow up with Sales and Marketing for any outstanding order information.
- Check all orders for accuracy after input to verify order matches purchase order.
- Ensure order processing function runs at peak efficiency by continuously monitoring procedures and functions
- Maintain customer sales order files.
- Ensure customer is kept informed on the status of all requests.
Position Requirements:
- At least 2 years of customer service and/or order entry experience.
- AS/AA degree or equivalent.
- Proficiency with MS Office, and experience using order management and customer relationship database is preferred.

Engineering Technician
Summary:
This position is responsible for providing technical support to engineering and assisting in building and testing prototype products.
Responsibilities:
- Assist R&D engineers in building testing and troubleshooting of prototypes as well as production units.
- Conduct tests and document results.
- Create and fabricate test fixtures for R&D, as well as Production, as necessary
- Mechanical, Opto-mechanical and electrical systems assembly, test, fault diagnostic, integration and debugging.
- Board level SMD assembly diagnostic and repair.
- Enhances productivity of engineering group through support of engineering projects.
- Improves product performance and cost through proactive suggestions for improvement.
- Insures ISO standards are followed, maintained and improved.
Requirements:
- EE or EET degree or equivalent experience.

- Familiar with Windows operating systems and be able to set up and configure such systems.

Senior Software Engineer
Summary:
This position is responsible for the design and implementation of our next generation software framework for instrument control.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design and implementation of software frameworks and applications for instrument control. Demonstrate fast learning skills, understanding of software patterns and architectures and abilities to apply these architectures in new projects.
- Guide and mentor more junior software developers and participate in design and code reviews, give technical feedback and recommendations when needed.
- Collaborate with product management team and customers in refinement of software requirements and generating software specifications and design documents.
- Participate in embedded software development projects.
Position Requirements:

- B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
- 5+ years experience with development in Microsoft Windows environment required.
- 3+ years of industry experience with Microsoft component technologies, COM, Microsoft .NET framework and Microsoft C#. Experience with C++. Microsoft Win32 is a plus.
- Experience in software architecture and high–level design, familiarity with object-oriented methodologies required. Experience using established software engineering methodologies is expected.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows CE development and other embedded software development environments (including RTOS, embedded Linux) is preferred.
- Experience in designing software for instrument and / or process control, control algorithms and frameworks preferred. Familiarity with biotechnology instrumentation is a plus.
- Experience with software configuration tools and experience working under defined software process is expected.

Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager
Summary:
This individual contributor will be responsible for designing mechanical aspects of instruments aimed at bio-medical markets, and for transferring those designs to our production facilities. As a Project Manager, this individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering projects and coordinating a multidisciplinary project team, where team members depend on the efforts of each other.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Engineering
- Design mechanical devices and systems using Solid Works, which include motion systems, optical housings, liquid handling devices, and packaging and shipping materials.
- Provide clear, organized documentation to be used by other engineers, Production, outside suppliers, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate transfer of designs to Production and assist Production with the more complex mechanical problems.
- Ensure a smooth transfer to and responsive support of designs to an ISO 13485 production facility.
- Use tools, design methods, and production approaches that are consistent with the most current technologies.
Project Manager
- Participate in product specification and definition, and have primary responsibility for product scheduling and identification of resource requirements in creating the product development plan.
- Execute projects following ISO 13485 procedures, including Design and Design Transfer, which specify the requirements for such tasks as creation of Engineering Specifications, conducting Design Review and Risk Analysis meetings, determination of Verification/ Validation tests, etc.
- Optimize time to market versus the cost of development.
- Prioritize resources and ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
- Identify roadblocks and bottlenecks to completing a specific task or project on time and determine a course of action to eliminate or avoid them.

Summary:
This position is responsible for assembling subassemblies for mechanical and optical instrument systems, testing and packaging some systems, and completing some final assembly of systems. This position is accountable for performing assembly activities according to defined procedures and instructions in a timely manner.

- Performs various assembly activities using basic hand tools.
- Performs basic material handling activities.
- Perform verification and validation activities according to documented procedures and instructions.

Quality Technician
Summary:
The Quality Technician will address all incoming inspection responsibilities and assist the Quality Assurance Manager in improving, creating, and maintaining product quality and process improvement initiatives throughout the company.
Responsibilities:
- Assist QA Manager in maintaining Quality Processes.
- Incoming inspection of all parts and products (primarily mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical) to ensure compliance to expectations.
- Document results of inspections; evaluate defects and make recommendations for corrective action.
- Assist in the Internal Audit program, perform internal audits as necessary.
- Non-Conformance (NCR)
- Material Review (MRB)
- CAPA (Corrective Actions, including SCARs and PARs)

Accountant
Summary:
This individual will be responsible for maintaining, implementing and controlling all aspects of the Accounts Receivable (A/R) as well as assisting the Controller in month-end closing activity, management reporting, and other general accounting duties.
Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Process daily invoices for customers.
- Process credit card transactions.
- Process bank deposits and apply cash receipts.
- Maintain current payment status according to customer payment terms.
- Contact customers to collect aged accounts.
- Maintain and update Accounts Receivable polices and procedures as needed.
General Ledger
- Complete month-end closing schedules and worksheets in support of accounting closing entries.

Executive Assistant (Part Time)
Summary
We are seeking an individual to work on a part-time basis (20 hours per week) to support the President with administrative tasks, as well as provide assistance to the Executive Staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Support the president in the following areas:
- Review documentation, and assist with editing and formatting
- Compose correspondence and presentations
- Extensive calendar management
- Make travel arrangements for the President as well as for others as needed.
- Process Expense Reports for the President as well as credit card reconciliation.
- Maintain file management system
- Address additional tasks as needed.
- Coordinate monthly Company Meetings, including scheduling, creating the agenda, organizing presentations material, and ordering food.
- Coordinate new hire set up, including setting up the phone and desk area, providing training on the phone and email (Lotus Notes) systems, and ordering any necessary supplies.
- Order office and kitchen supplies.
- Manage upkeep of general office equipment, including copier, fax machine, and postage machine.
- Set up Board of Directors and Shareholders meetings.
- Process paperwork for stock option awards and maintain current ledgers.
- Coordinate customer visits, including making hotel arrangements, typing up agendas, scheduling transportation, making dinner and lunch reservations, and catering food and beverages when they are in the office.
